Show Diary

The members layouts listed under each year, are scheduled to be at the stated exhibitions. We hope you will be able to attend any in your area. We will soon have a Photo Gallery showcasing examples of the standard reached by many of our members. Would members let us know where and when your layout is being exhibited by email to the Chairman, the Narrow News editor and the Webmaster. (click here to open a new email in your email client) We also welcome details of exhibitions your group is running. Full details of exhibition times and venue would be appreciated. Please quote your membership number in all correspondence. Whilst endeavouring to ensure details above are correct, the Association, its officers or members, cannot be held responsible for changes or cancellations to any of the events, or for errors that may occur in publishing these details.

Lancashire Area Group meeting

Event address: Eccleston School Hall , PR26 8LT
Opening Times: 11am to 4pm
Parking: Yes

Routes best approached from M6

From the South – leave the M6 at jct 27 and turn left, keep in outside lane, after 50 yds turn right, (B.P. Garage) into Mossy Lea road, (note – this may appear as Crow Orchard road on some sat-nav systems) Follow this road for approx. 5 miles through Eccleston village until reaching a hump back bridge with St Mary's church on the right. Immediately over the bridge take the left fork, New Lane. Proceed to the T junction at the Texaco garage, turn left. After approx. 200 yards, after Barlows Trailers on the right, turn right into Ulnes Walton Lane. The school house is on the right after approx: one third of a mile.

From the North – leave the M6 at jct 28 (Leyland) and at the end of the slip road turn right, keep in outside lane up to traffic lights and turn right on to A49. Follow A49 under West Coast main line, (traffic light controlled) through 2 further sets of lights. At the roundabout go straight across and after 250 yds, at the second roundabout turn right on to A581. Follow this road for approx. 4 miles until passing a Texaco garage on the left. Approx 200 yds after the garage, at Barlows Trailers on the right, turn right into Ulnes Walton Lane. School House is approx.: one third of a mile on the right.

From Southport, Formby, Crosby – either pick up M58 and then follow details for approach from south, or use A565 to Tarleton, turn right at lights onto A59 (Liverpool). After approx 2 miles turn right onto A581 to Croston. Drive through Croston Village and after passing the Grapes Hotel on the left, follow the road to the left, after approx. One and a half miles, at the T junction (Highfield pub on right), turn right. Pass Wyvale Garden Centre on the left and then take the next left turn, Ulnes Walton Lane. School House approx. One third of a mile on right.

Please try to attend; bring a layout, some stock or something you are working on. Frank Sharp is coming over to do some demonstrations which knowing Frank should be very interesting.

A topic for discussion. Since the Association is holding the annual exhibition and AGM in June, should we also hold a meeting in June or should we go for the next meeting to be held in July? If you wish to host a meeting and when you would like to do so, please let me know so we can draw up a schedule/programme rather than struggling from month to month.

Following a successful meeting in Morecambe a few months ago the Lancashire Area Group are holding another meeting
