The 7mm Narrow Gauge Association aims to encourage the modelling of

South Downs

We are a group of modellers with a broad interest in narrow gauge railways from around the World. We model in O-16.5, On30, O9, GN15 and 009, through to 12in to the foot. Our membership is drawn from Sussex and Hampshire (principally BN, PO, and SO Postcodes) and we are especially keen to welcome into our fold any new members to join in our activities. We have regular evening meetings rotating around member's homes, with lots of chat, planning of events and watching DVDs or pictures as well as enjoying the obligatory refreshment! There are also daytime modelling sessions and trips out. We also frequently exhibit layouts (including our modular layout - The Slindon Vale (light) Railway) and provide a 7mmNGA presence at exhibitions in the south. To keep in touch, our Group produces a newsletter 'Sentinel' every other month. The highlight of our year is the annual SWING exhibition that we organise. For more details, please see our website at http://swing.model-railway.org.uk/ where you can also contact us, or drop an email to group.downs@7mmnga.org.uk . If you would prefer to telephone initially, please call Richard Rundle on 01243 261641.

Surrey Area Group

We are a large Group with more than 20 active members. Although named the Surrey Area Group, we also draw members from South London, Sussex and Kent as members in parts of those areas find our meeting venues easily accessible. We normally meet on the third Friday or Saturday of the month, usually at members' houses. Meetings range from just a chit chat to slide shows, modelling demonstrations and operating member's layouts. In addition to meetings, we have our own email newsletter, 'Surrey Times', sent monthly to all Group members. Twice a year we have a full day meeting on a Saturday at Merstham Village Hall, handily placed on the main London to Brighton rail line and adjacent to the M25. One meeting is an operating day where members bring their layouts and we all play trains (and every few years becomes our public exhibition, Narr-O) and the other a modelling day where there is the opportunity to have a day's uninterrupted modelling and to seek any help needed with recalcitrant projects. In addition to our normal Group activities, we support Group members with exhibition layouts and are well known for assisting the Association by manning publicity and sales stands at exhibitions in the South East (and occasionally further afield). Several members of the Group have formed a separate On30 modellers group and now have quite an extensive modular layout. Any Association members in our extended geographical area will be very welcome to join the Group. For more details, email the Group at group.surrey@7mmnga.org.uk , or write to us care of Alan Rogers, 2 Sunstone Grove, Merstham, Surrey, RH1 3PR.

A more detailed page about our activities will shortly be available via [this link].
