Our next Exhibition will be on Saturday 5 June 2021 and will, as usual, combine a wide range of superb layouts, display models, demonstrations and traders.

The annual competitions for members will take place and the Association AGM will be held at 14:00 during the Exhibition.

ADJOURNMENT OF THE 2020 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Members are hereby notified that the Annual General Meeting, scheduled for Saturday 13th June 2020, has been summarily adjourned.

The Covid19 pandemic and consequent restrictions upon movement and gatherings imposed by HM Government have created a situation of force majeure (Govt. regulations, venue unavailable & no prospect of meeting being quorate) under which the Committee’s Executive have no other option.

Article 5.7 of the Association’s Constitution defines the Executive as the Chairman, Secretary & Treasurer.

Articles 6.3, 6.4, 6.5 and 6.6 of the Association’s Constitution govern the General Meeting processes, including adjournment if a quorum cannot be obtained.

The Executive has also decided that the adjourned 2020 AGM will be reconvened at 2pm on Saturday 5th June 2021, at Burton upon Trent Town Hall. The adjourned 2020 AGM will be followed, immediately, by the 2021 AGM. Notices and Agendas for both meetings will be published according to the timetable set out in Articles 6.3 & 6.4.

2020 Agenda Items.

5.  The resolution proposed under Item 5 remains on the table and your thoughts and comments are still very welcome.  Please address them to chairman@7mmnga.org.uk.  The sub-committee established to investigate a possible change of legal entity will continue their work, with the aim of bringing a firm recommendation to the 2021 AGM.

7.  The Treasurer reports that the Accounts for 2019 have been approved by the Independent Examiner, Gordon Gravett.  The Accounts and the Examiner’s statement will be published in the next Narrow News, and in the Members’ section of the Association website, at the same time.  Formal approval will still be required at the adjourned AGM.

9.   As no other nominations were received for elected and appointed positions, the incumbent officers are re-elected and will continue in post, with two exceptions. Gary Burke will retire as Membership Secretary and Neil Smith will retire as Chairman.  Adrian Gray will take over as Chairman. Neil’s offer to continue to serve as Sales Officer (Modelling Goods) has been gratefully accepted. A list of officers serving until the 2021 AGM will also be published in the Members’ section of the Association website at the same time as this notice is published.
