Website Security now enhanced

With the increase in Internet usage and particularly wireless connections, so website security has become an ever more important issue. We have, therefore, implemented SSL to improve this.

Although when using this website, very little personal information is passed from you over the internet or vice-versa, some, like your personal details and much more importantly, your user ID and password are passed in one direction or another.

Although there has always been a small amount of risk in that someone could snoop on your connection and harvest those details, this has been vastly increased with the advent of wireless connectivity, which make such snooping far easier especially if you use default passwords with your router/modem or an inadequate level of security.

Some details such as your name and address might be argued to be in the public domain in any event and thus of little import. But, potentially far more dangerous is the potential ability for someone to intercept your log-in credentials - especially your password. This becomes all the more important if, like many people, you use the same password across many website

Using SSL, all information passing between you and the website in both directions is encrypted. You will be able to see this in two ways:- firstly a small green padlock will appear in your browser address bar and secondly the website address will change from to . This redirection to https via SSL is entirely automatic so you don't need to worry about changing entries in your bookmarks or favourites. If you do not see the "https" or green padlock in a page you visit, website browsers and.or internet service providers often store a copy of a website in something called "cache" to speed up its download. Generally speaking this can be resolved by using the "Refresh" or "Reload" link or button in your browser.
