‘An Introduction to 7mm Narrow Gauge Modelling’, a free booklet from the Association.

Howard ‘Nobby’ Clarke was a prolific and accomplished modeller. To say that Howard was also a stalwart of the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association is scarcely adequate. Over the years that he was a member of the Association, Howard filled most of the avail

Sadly, Howard passed away in 2013, but shortly before he wrote a series of articles on 7mm narrow gauge modelling which were published in Railway Modeller. The articles are an excellent introduction to the topic and demonstrate how the modeller can quickly have narrow gauge rolling stock ready for that new layout. To encourage new modellers to narrow gauge modelling, and as a fitting tribute to Howard, the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association has reproduced the three articles in a free 12 page A4 sized booklet, ‘An Introduction to 7mm Narrow Gauge Modelling’. As well as the three Railway Modeller articles which are based on O-16.5 modelling, the guide also provides a brief introduction to On30 and minimum gauge modelling and gives guidance on getting started in narrow gauge modelling.

All Association members have received a copy of the booklet and it is available free from the Association at model railway exhibitions and shows throughout the country. The booklet can also be downloaded in pdf format by clicking here.
